Valention Rossi pre-#46

Valentino Rossi on his way to winning the 1995 Italian 125 championship with an Aprilia. Notice no #46 yet. Only partly chosen as his race number on the world stage because his dad ran it in 1979. The Morbidelli post a few back was at Silverstone where he ran number 15, and he ran 52 at Le Mans. From Valentino’s own website: “This is the number my father had when he won his first Grand Prix race in the 250cc, in 1979 ( in Yugoslavia). It is also the number of a Japanese wild card who I thought was simply out standing.I decided to use 46 because I happen to like it”.
